Making the bracket and getting everything to line up perfectly took hours, much longer than I had expected. I really wanted to get some work done on the ankles this weekend but now it looks like this will not happen. I am not very good at working with metal, and if only I could weld this whole process would have taken less time.
The brackets were made up out of some heavy steel square section tubing I had. After a great deal on angle grinding and drilling I eventually have a bracket to fix the feet to the legs and after a test fitting everything seems to line up perfect.
